IRACINGIRACING is a brief analogy of the key concepts portrayed in filmography. I - Institution is the production company used to essentially "publish" the film, for example; Twisted Pictures produced the 'Saw' saga and Warner Brothers produced 'The Exorcist'. R - Representation is how the film expresses stereotypical points about characters, for example in horrors the "attractive blonde" girls are always stereotyped as the primary victim. A - Audience is the range of people that we will aim our horror OTS towards whether we look into age, gender or culture. C - Construction is all about the equipment, camera shots and angles used to portray a film. I - Ideology is giving the audience something to to think about within the film, unanswerable questions and hidden messages are good examples. N - Narrative revolves around how the story is told and what the characters would be doing to achieve this. G - Genre is the category of movie that you are aiming towards, for instance; Horror, Comedy or Romance. Principles of ContinuityContinuity is a major section in filming! When any filmed project is made the camera operators have to make sure all of the time that all of the props, clothing and scenery/ background are the same, if the law of continuity is not followed then your camera skills will easily be discouraged. Even today in modern films continuity errors can be found, you just have to look and watch carefully. Errors have been found in even the best of films, such as Scream. In a scene when the victim (Casey) is on the phone to the killer, items disappear from the kitchen side when the camera shot changes. This is because the scenes would of been acted out multiple times due to bloopers or trial and error, the continuity errors would have come from accidental movement or just plain laziness, such little errors as these will get the media kicking and screaming. Continuity errors don't have to be props being moved or unintentional disappearances, it can be other errors such as someone smoking a cigar with their left hand but then the shot changes and they are smoking it with their right. Small error but quite annoying! Camera Angles
