How does your Media product develop, conform & challenge forms & conventions of real media products?
This Prezzi shows how we have conformed, developed and challenged media conventions. In the Prezzi we have written about how we have challenged media conventions by the type of shots we used within our OTS and how we have challenged conventions by the way we represented characters.
The Prezzi explains that we conformed to the editing we used within our OTS, the music/sound we included, the lighting used, the font we used on the titles, the location we decided to film our OTS in, the mise-en-scene and the narrative used in our opening title sequence.
We did not feel as if we developed any media conventions within our OTS, majority of the time our OTS conformed to media conventions.

Within this video we explain what films and aspects of horror films inspired us whilst making our opening title sequence. Macauley explains where we got the idea for the start of our opening title sequence, the victim waking up confused and scared. We got the idea from Saw II's opening sequence where the victim is trapped in a room with a deadly fly trap round his head. BB 27/03/15 |
Brandon explains why we decided to use the phone call idea, how we took inspiration from When a stranger calls, and the fact the victim was talking to the killer unknowingly. We thought it was such a classic idea used in many well known horror films that we had to implement it into our media product. SG 27/03/15 |
Finally Sam demonstrates why we chose to end on the victim hanging upside down with blood dripping down his body onto his face. We watched the film Severance and thought it was a brilliant idea to include within our opening title sequence, so we took the inspiration and decided to try and replicate it. JL 27/03/15 |
